The 20th annual Christmas lunch at NSW Parliament House was held on 6th December. Attendance was significantly down on previous years for no obvious reason other than the ever0lingering concerns about Covid amongst members. Regardless of the numbers, Naval Officers and their partners and guests can always get the most out of any occasion – this lunch was no exception.
This lunch is one of two signature events arranged by the NSW Division. It provides a great opportunity for members to catch up on the year past and to contemplate the year ahead.
Every one of the previous 19 lunches has featured a female guest speaker, all of whom have never failed to impress. This 20th anniversary luncheon was no different. Commander Siobhan Sturdy CSM RAN is an integral part of the AUKUS program with responsibilities for ensuring the RAN has the appropriatel trained and accrtedited manpower needed as we venture into a new era of strategic capabilities. Commander Sturdy held the audience spell-bound as she delivered her presentation with skill and passion. Conclusion of many – the RAN is in good hands!
