CMDR Emma McDonald-Kerr RAN ADC, the Commanding Officer NHQ SA, attended and presented a very interesting and thought provoking talk on recruitment and retention issues in the current RAN.  Some aspects of retention and initiatives to retain RAN personnel do not change over time!  CMDR McDonald-Kerr also announced the recommissioning of HMAS Encounter later in the year.  A number of NOC SA members are ex Commanding Officers or Executive Officers of HMAS Encounter.
